Buffon is now a central defender during FIFA 23's Shapeshifters promotion.

Gianluigi Buffon FIFA 23 Premium Shapeshifters SBC went live June 29 during the Ultimate Team promotion.
Shapeshifters Team 2 is currently in packs and the latest content release features a special Buffon item. A Premium Shapeshifters Buffon is available for one segment transforming the goalkeeper into a CB. The SBC is relatively well priced, but the downside is that he won't provide many links outside of Italian players. Buffon plays for Parma who competes in Serie B.
Buffon is a Premium Shapeshifters item though so he'll get full chemistry no matter what.

Here's how to complete the FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Buffon SBC:

- Italian Players: Min. 1
- Team of the Week or Team of the Season Players: Min. 1
- Squad Rating: 85
- No Chemistry Requirement
- Players in the Squad: 11
- REWARD: Premium Shapeshifters Buffon
An 85 rated squad with a TOTW or TOTS item, both of which are easily crafted through other SBCs, for a 93 rated item is great value. Again, Buffon won't provide great chemistry links. He's got great statistics in all key areas for defenders, though the item lacks a little in dribbling. He does have four-star skills and a five-star weak foot which is a nice bonus.
The SBC is coming in around 62,000 coins to complete from scratch and it expires Thursday, July 6 at 1 p.m. ET.
