The Population Bomb is a new signature move for Pokémon to learn in Scarlet and Violet. The game released on Nov. 18, brought trainers into the Paldea region, expanding the move pool and introducing over 100 generation-9 Pokémon. The Population Bomb has recently been receiving a lot of attention for its power and unique mechanic.

Similar to Fury Swipes and Tail Slap, Population Bomb is a multi-strike attack. It is able to deal damage by repeatedly hitting the opponent, up to ten times per use. Each strike has a separate accuracy so, if one of the attacks misses, the entire move is over.

Here are the stats of Population Bomb:

  • 10 PP
  • Power: 20
  • Accuracy: 90%
  • Type: Normal
  • Category: Physical

Though it has a low power stat, the repetition of hits accumulates, inflicting a lot of damage. Additionally, to maximize the strength of the move, trainers can give their Pokémon a Loaded Dice item which makes it so there is only one accuracy check, ensuring it will hit between four and ten times.

As of now, the only Pokémon that are able to learn Population Bomb are the mice Pokémon: Tandemaus and Maushold. To obtain the move, trainers will need to level up Tandemaus to level 46 or Maushold to level 53.
